SEAMAR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER
Transformer Replacement & Secondary Containment Design
Location: Seattle, WA
Owner: SeaMar Community Health Center
Other consultants/team members:
Bazan Architects Bellevue, WA
Project Completed: In progress
The retrofit project at this facility included replacing the electrical transformer, however the site was constrained, and early locations were rejected by the utility. Vader Engineering found a suitable location that met utility requirements, maintained vital circulation routes, minimized collateral excavation, and avoided impact to the facility’s future program space. Vader then designed the secondary containment system to prevent stormwater pollution in the event of a transformer leak.
